37 Weeks....

Well here we are with less that three weeks from my due date... and if you ask me I dont think he is going to be staying in that long any way! My DR is coming back from vacation tomorrow evening and then I am basically ready whenever! If he follows the same pattern Tristen did he could be born as soon as late this week or weekend... I would be ok with that! The house is pretty much ready... it gets cleaned up and then it also easily gets to be a mess real quickly! We have had a wonderful winter leading up to this past weekend, we got a snowstorm that dropped 11 inches so I guess it was inevitable!

This is my last picture that was taken right before Tristen was born and then my current 37 week picture... Its hard to compare....

Christmas!

This year was so much fun, I think I enjoyed watching Tristen go through and get excited about Santa this year then any other year I can remember....We had a very busy December, we took Tristen to the zoo for a Winter Zoobilee when there was still snow on the ground and he got to ride the Polar Express... he loved it but then got so cold at the end and then it was no fun! Grandpa Marty came up for a visit to spend some time with us and then Grandpa and Ree Ree came up for Christmas.... we baked cookies, watched some Christmas videos and went to the Childrens Museum.... The New Year was spent with two other couples and their kids as a tradition we have done this for the past few years, the kids run around and play then Tristen goes to sleep and the adults get to play!

Lastly... I have been horrible at taking belly pics and updating the progress of the other little guy thats about to come into our family... I will be 33 weeks this weekend and its a little crazy to think I am getting so close.... the weather here has been so warm that I really cant believe its January! So I am still not technically due till Feb 26th but based on Tristens early arrival there is a chance that baby brother could be here by mid February... thats not too long from now.... So I am getting things organized and pulling all the baby stuff back out!

October was filled with great fall weather, so..... trips to the zoo before it closed, the pumpkin patch, Tristens birthday and Halloween! Grandpa came up to finish a bedroom down in the basement and now Tristen and baby brother have a nice play room in the back of the basement! Here are a few slideshows to condense it all a bit...

We had a very simple party for Tristen on his birthday, he had his two best buds from daycare come over for some pizza and cupcakes, Grandpa and Ree Ree came and our neighbors stopped by. He enjoyed it and we decided that next year it will be somewhere other than our house!

This was our first stop on Halloween, the football stadium had all the departments handing out candy, Tristen really enjoyed it.

Well I had my ultrasound earlier this week and it confirmed what Hayden had said from day 1... BOY! I am not gonna lie and say that I wasnt a tiny bit sad that it wasnt a girl, it would have been cool to have one of each, but I pretty much had a feeling it was going to be a boy. I have always thought that I would be the one to have all boys and I am really excited for Tristen to have a little brother to play around with and a few years down the road I can only imagine the destruction they might get into!:) As my Dad said, well just another lil guy for Tristen to go out and pee in the grass with since he randomly does that! HA!

Overall we were really just focused on making sure that baby was healthy and all looked good no matter what the gender and that was confirmed.... its amazing to see all the testing that they do these days esp on the heart, I was able to see all four chambers of the heart, the valves.... its just so neat! So now we are trying to get some name options... we had our girl name and couldnt figure out a boy name but now that its set the countdown begins! Here are a couple of images of Peanut....

He was face down and didnt really want to roll over for a better 3D picture but it was still neat to see some more of his face.... Will he look like Tristen?

Haydens Moment

I am always telling little stories of times that I have had with Tristen or times that myself and Hayden have spent with Tristen, but this one comes from Hayden when I had already gone to work one morning.....

Hayden was still in bed and he heard Tristen get out of bed, close his door behind him and go into the potty and do everything himself... then Tristen tip toed into our room and quietly climbed onto the bed and then on top of Hayden who was laying on his back and then lied down on his chest and said to Hayden "I love you very much" What a way to start the day.... That just made my heart just melt.... as I am sure it did Haydens.

17 weeks

Had an appoinment today, all is good Peanut Perez is beating at 143 bpm. I have gained about 7 lbs and seem to be a bit bigger than with Tristen at this time.... 3 weeks and we will know whether Tristen is going to be a Big Brother to a Baby Sister or Brother, if you ask him he says he is having a baby sister.... :)

Popcorn and Movie...

I put Tristen down to bed tonight and had my evening planned to pop some popcorn and watch the volleyball game. I came out into the kitchen and got the air popper out and once it stopped popping I noticed Tristen was all upset crying in his bed, so I went in and ask him what was wrong and he said to me with a very strong voice "Dont turn on the popcorn and dont watch a movie!" Poor thing was being left out!!! Just for a little background he loves to have popcorn and movie nights so I guess when he heard the popper going he was a little upset at me, so of course he came out of his room a few minutes later because he said he needed to pee pee and when we were in the bathroom he said "We have some popcorn and I watch a movie, then I go to bed" Ha Ha, he was trying to work his way into it so I told him if he was good tomorrow then maybe tomorrow night we will have popcorn and movie night..... he was content....

So just before I left for my South Padre trip with the girls and kids Hayden and I found out that we are expecting Baby Perez #2!! Peanut Perez is due in late February, so since I have been bad about my updates my next picture will be my 4 month pic. Things have been pretty good this time around, I still was extremely tired till about my 14th week, hungry all the time and no sickness... so pretty much the same as with Tristen just add a 2 1/2 year old to chase around and that leads me to my shorter fuse! I do struggle with that right now plus Tristen is in the heart of his terrible twos/threes, whatever it is these days! So we will find out the gender of the lil one here in 4 weeks! Looking forward to seeing what it is and plannong for Tristens baby brother or sister... He says he wants a baby sister!

Ok, so I know I have been behind but I have compiled a slide show to try to catch yall up! We have been trying to keep up with Tristen.... He is sure turning into a boy, always having a new bruise or cut daily... having his moments of not listening and testing his limits! He has been doing very well on the potty training that I guess we can say now that he is fully trained and before 3! He pretty much tells us now when he has to go which is awesome... he says he is a big boy now! So with that being accomplished he was able to move upstairs to a 2 1/2 yr old room which sets him up to move to a preschool room here in the next few months! He turns 3 in less than two months... just crazy!!!

My first mortifying moment...

Ok, first off... a large update will be coming very soon I PROMISE... but first I must share a story from last night. Hayden and I were playing softball and I originally was just going to be the extra hitter and watch Tristen but one of the girls asked me to play so I said ok I will go in a catch that way I could also see Tristen. Well we had some friends sitting and watching so I asked them to just keep an eye on him and not let him run onto the field. Well I look over after the first batter and all I see are bare butt cheeks! I tried to yell Tristen what are you doing!! Well my friend say he said he had to go, so I said Ok....(She didnt quite know that he needs help and to take him to the potty)So he then just walked over to the grass area pulled his pants down and went... I was totally embarassed but also laughing inside. So after the inning was over I went to talk to Tristen about it and I must say I was proud that he told her he needed to go but I tried to explain we have pottys here to go in, and he response to me with a little shrug was Well Mommy, I just go in grass like it was no big deal..... That was the funniest part.

4th weekend

After South Padre, Tristen and I flew back up to DFW and went to Grandpa and Ree Rees, Hayden drove down to meet us and then we celebrated my birthday and the 4th... We pretty much just stayed in the pool and then went to Marcis river house with all the family and friends... its always such a fun time. Tristen was a fish and has been doing so well with his swimming, he is very comfortable putting his head underwater on his own and jumping off the side of the pool to us... he even was jumping off the back of the boat to Hayden over and over again.

Alright, I took Tristen on a last minute trip to Okoboji, IA with my friend Jess and her family. Her grandparents have a "cabin" up there which was no cabin, its a beautiful house and we had so much fun, I even threw on the wetsuit and Jess and I did some open water swimming! We have been keeping busy with swimming lessons, farmers markets and backyard fun! The latest update on potty training.... He did unreal when we started the underwear from day one... he has only had 1 accident at daycare and it was very little. He is getting it, but still needs some work. This first pic was at Dinner, his swim trunks were on the back of the chair and I looked up and they were on his head!

I was vacuuming the living room and went into our bedroom and this is what I saw!

It was hot, so we just jumped in with our underwear!

This is a little bit of everything from lately... we have been going to the zoo where Tristen is obsessed with the train, he will hear the whistle and then stop do a funny little dance and wait for it to be in sight.... now he doesnt want to get on it though.... It did scare him the first time I took him this year, it came around the corner and was louder than he expected and so maybe he is shy from that, who knows!?
Ree Ree and Grandpa came up to watch Tristen while I had a weekend in Omaha for a friends wedding and Hayden went biking in CO with Dave, so they had fun going to the zoo and playing in Grandpas car... another obsession.... pretending to drive! He is loving his bike and is getting so fast on it, its time to break out the helmet!
We are starting some potty training and he had one day where he went potty 3 times, but he isnt really telling us... Starting on Wednesday daycare wants to have him in underwear and go full force because he needs to be trained by this fall to move upstairs to the pre-school rooms, so here goes nothing!
Things have started to slow down a bit at least for now, I am super excited to head down to S. Padre in a few weeks with Tristen and meet up with the girls and kiddos, 3 Mommies and 5 kiddos.. gonna be a blast!

My first sewing attempt! I have been wanting a sewing machine for a while so I finally got one and wanted to make Tristen a blanket, worked out pretty good!

First time in BIG BOY UNDERWEAR! So it was only for a few minutes before bedtime but I am ready to get him going on the potty training, Im hoping by summer! Sunday Funday! Hayden has some matches that fall on Sundays and luckily they have been able to have a couple matches outdoors so far this year and since the weather is nice I packed a picnic lunch for us and then pulled him on the bike downtown to watch "Daddys Match" We ate and then we played in the sand vball courts which is right next to the tennis courts, then we biked home, I love taking him on the bike places, its so much fun! Drawing time.... not much done yet....

Hold You....

So when Tristen wants to be held he will say Hold You... Hold You....I have been telling him that he should say Hold Me and he is still a little young to understand all that but I still try to say it.... so just the other day he came out with Hold You Me.... HA HA... so he kinda got it!

Its been getting a bit warmer and the grass is showing signs of green!!!

We have been taking in some tennis matches.... Tristen really loves to go to "Daddys Practice" as he calls it.... He will get excited and shout GO GAME!

The vacuum diaries... I really should make a diary of Tristen and his vacuum obsession.... in this picture it was time for his night routine of books and milk which is usually in his bedroom but this night he requested to sit by his vacuum and do it.... he has also asked to have his diaper changed right by it, he tells me "Mommy, I lay by MY REAL VACUUM"!!

This was a role reversal, usually I am the one giving Tristen bites but he thought it was great fun to feed me! He kept saying "Mommy bite" "Eat it"!

This evening I put Tristen down to bed - he was tired and I thought he would go pretty quick.... So I jumped in the shower and as I was getting out I could here him crying... So I went in and asked him what was wrong, first off he had unzipped his footed pjs all the way down so I zipped him up, then he was telling me he needed "medicine" Last week was the only time he had some Motrin for a cold but only once... So I asked him "Honey, why do you need medicine, you aren't sick?" With a very excited tone in his voice he said to me "cause I like it!" HA!

So I should start typing some of these funny things Tristen has been coming out with... So a few things to document

About a week ago, we were having dinner and Tristen took his peas that were on his plate and started moving them all to the other side of his plate with his hands, I said to him "Lets not play with our food honey" His response "I move it other side, Honey" HA HA! I was like... WHAT!!!!!

The next day, I went to pick him up at his daycare... his teacher says to me do you know what your son said today... I wasnt sure if I wanted to know or not but he had asked to sit on the potty, he isnt potty trained but will sit on it there with all the other kids doing it, so he sat down and look at her and said "I no go, I just fart" HOLY COW!!!!! I was first floored b.c neither Hayden or myself say that word, we usually say toot!!!!!

A couple other things I have caught him doing... Putting his trains in "time out" going up to them bending over and yelling... BAD! NO! We dont talk to him like that either when he goes to time out but it was funny... the next day it was his Moose and he picked it up and put it up to his face and started talking to it.... we do that after he is done, get down to his level and talk to him why he was in time out but him doing it was pretty funny.

I also heard him this morning playing and talking and he kept saying something and then counting to three... as in when we warn him to do something and then count to three..... he is a riot and SPONGE to say the least right now!

Got some really nice weather to get outside and play... All the snow finally melted.... but now as I write this we have 5 or 6 inches in the last few hrs.... Boo!

Tristen has started to really enjoy sometimes just going into his room and playing by himself.... He has even asked us to leave before... HA HA!

We even had a shorts day... well a Nebraska shorts day, my Texas folk would probably differ on that one!

Grandpa Marty came into town- Tristen had a ball with him, went to the park and the childrens museum... and just had some quality time together. He has most of the pictures on his camera so I need to get those and post them on here.

ROAD TRIP.... TEXAS!

So Hayden went to Florida for a tourney and some recruiting and was going to be gone for the Big 12 game in Texas, so I decided that I was going to head down there with Tristen to go to the game and see the family for the weekend.... To make a long story short the flights were going to work out for us so we drove! My Dad flew up to drive down with Tristen and I and then drove back up home with me and then he flew back! Crazy right! Well it worked out great and Tristen was a GREAT traveler in the car. We took off at 245 am on TH morning and got to TX by noon.... I was able to have some good time with family!

Best thing ever, Kim took Friday off and took the kids out of school so we could have time together! Yippee! We got to play and go to the park numerous times.. fed the ducks and enjoyed some great weather!

Game time! I took Marci and Kim to the game, we tailgated before and had ourselves a wonderful time... I separated my ribs a couple weeks back and all I can say is the amount of laughing we did together made them hurt so bad but for such a good reason... we need to do more of those days more often!

Here is my best attempt at getting everything in order and all the fun activities and events this past week.... We started out with Tristen's check up and then Grandpa and ReeRee came.... We celebrated Tristen's actual birthday by putting his new Skuut (bike)together and then going to the pumpkin patch. He loved it and it was so much fun to see how much more he was able to do there compared to last year. We had cake and opened presents, he was so excited about his backpack he ran around the house with it on backwards!Friday was his birthday party, we have been so lucky with the weather so we had it at the park and had a few of his little friends out to play then have pizza and cupcakes.... nothing real big this year and no major theme... I did make froggy cupcakes which was fun. On Sat, Hayden was kind enough to stay home with Tristen so I could take my parents to the NE/Mizzou football game which was a blast, we got downtown to do a little pregame and I think we all had a blast! Sunday was Halloween and Tristen was a little MONKEY! He did so well, did about 5 houses and he had it down, then we came home and he helped me pass out treats to our "friends" that came to the door. To top it all off he then spent his first night in his toddler bed which is his crib that converts but he was so excited!!! We talked to him a lot about staying in bed until Mommy and Daddy come to get you and so far he has done just that.... He is doing so well! We had a blast this past week and are thankful that my parents were able to make it up to help out and celebrate! Still cant believe my little baby is 2....

Once again I am behind on this.... lots going on around here... Football season, Haydens fall season and Tristen running circles around us. He is getting so big, he loves to help out with anything we are doing.... Grandpa and Ree Ree came up for a weekend to help out while I ran Market to Market and he loved helping Grandpa with tools and his handy work on our new DRIVEWAY! We have been wanting to add an extra slab for a while so this is going to be so nice to have. Tmans bday is getting so close so we will have more pics and updates soon... but for now some of the latest.

Hired a babysitter and had a nice afternoon to tailgate and go to the Texas game, lets just say Pre-Game was fun.....
Ok funny story, Dad stayed a couple extra days to help finish the driveway and we went out to eat and stopped by Dairy Queen on the way home, well my Dad was in the backseat and told Tristen he could have a bite or two of his dip cone, so they start sharing... its dark out by the way and so we get home and open the car door and found Tristens face like this!!! We handed him Haydens ice cream just for the picture effect!

After my Market to Market run, 84 miles, 13 hrs... one long day! I didnt run it all... its a relay so I did just over 13 miles.... Long but FUN!

Its football time! If you dont know how it goes down here in Lincoln for the Husker FB season.. well its nuts... its so much fun and the people are die hards here.... took Tristen to his first game this year and he did very well... loved letting his balloon go and watching thousands of them in the air!

Tristen also got his first tennis racket and lesson from Daddy.... he has a Nadal Jr.... he he... cute....

Tristen telling me something very important. When he gets intent on telling you something he comes right up to your face and with the funniest tone says... IM GONNA and whatever he is about to do. Its so funny.

It was also a very special day... 9.11 - It still gave me chills to see firemen, policemen and a current player who served overseas walk out onto the field with flags after the tunnel walk.....

Los Alamos for Labor Day!

We didnt really think we were going to take another trip this summer but the opportunity presented itself and so we decided to head down to New Mexico to visit with Haydens family for a long Labor Day Weekend.... We had so much fun and stayed so busy... Dave our event coordinator had everything planned out to make sure we got all of our outdoor activities in! The only sad part was that Marty had a trip planned to Costa Rica leaving just before we arrived and coming home just after we left, so he is just gonna come up here to visit! We cant thank Dave and Ruth enough for having us and invading their house and Elena and Tarik for getting that great BBQ done and Grandma Deborah for visiting and helping keep an eye on the little guy a few times!

Random sleep position... I get a kick out of checking in on Tristen after he goes to bed because to just never know what position he has fallen asleep in!

That morning was cooler than the others so we did pants and a jacket!

So an update on the lil man.... Tristen is so flipping fun right now.... he has always been but anyone that knows me, knows that I cant sit still and so I have just as much fun going places and being outside till bedtime and just being busy! He talking more and more... speaks in some sentences.... half the time its still jibberish to me but I do know what he is getting at or wants most the time. He loves to talk about Mommy and Daddys car and when he hears an airplane he looks up in the air and points and finds in and says aaa--- ane or something like that! He loves his wagon rides and loves to call out for Appie ( Aspen) and Kow (Taos) He also has been hanging out with Roselynn my friends little girl and they are too cute together, giggling and running around and then theres the occasionally ahhh, mine and tug of war but so be it with a 2 yr old and almost 2 yr old. Here are some randoms....

He likes to do whatever we do.... lately he has been watching Mommy put on makeup which is a funny thought and I didnt quite catch him with the eyeliner... we had to discuss later that the eyeliner goes up on the eye and the powder doesnt go on his head... ha ha
So Hayden and I tried our hands out at hair stylists... not a bad job I would say....

The funny part is Hayden was trimming around his ears and he turned his head and whoops took a little off where we didnt want!

Its been hot, we mow without clothes....

Ok so this pic was a couple days before it happened, but Tristen went poopy on the potty! We are not starting official training yet, he isnt really ready but he is getting the idea and trying it out.

Dont know why we didnt start going here til the end of Summer but its GREAT! After we got home from Mexico we all wanted to swim and be in the sun.... so we went over to a great place for Tristen to play... its so busy of course but its still great! Tristen loves that he can changed the fountains by turning what looks like a steering wheel ( another thing he loves to play with) and running around and thinking he can swim by himself!

Well we did it, took the lil man down to Cabo! Last time I was there was when I was 6 months pregnant.... he might have gotten his love of water from me floating in the Sea of Cortez! So we headed down this year with my parents, brother and his girlfriend.... of course it didnt start out so smooth, flying standby can keep you on your toes! We made it there after Mommy got to fly in First Class (feeling very guilty) and Daddy was a trooper holding Tristen on his lap! We had a ball and got to swim with the Dolphins, Zip line and endless water time! Tristen was loving every minute he had, Grandpa and Ree-Ree helped out a ton and watched him some some Hayden and I could do some fun stuff together.... Jason and Sonia also helped us out.... its a bit different down there with a little one so we really were thankful to have our family to help out!

Once I got home from Jersey Kim and the kiddos came up for the annual NE trip... Had a blast.... and it sure was different from last year... last year Tristen wasnt MOBILE!!! So it was great to have Ali and Logan help out some too... I will say Tristen loved his Ali, she was so good with him!

We went out to the Cessna Citation for the Special Olympics which was very cool and inspiring, a jet landed every two minutes!

Updates are hard to come by... summertime is busy! These are so out of order... but oh well! So I celebrated my Golden Birthday by driving down to Texas and spending the 4th at home! We had a blast but then also got bad news that my Grandpa McGeough had passed away, it was almost surreal that we were in Texas to be in person to get the news. So after driving home I unpacked and packed up to head up to New Jersey for his funeral... which was beautiful in many ways, seeing him and family and being able to share all the memories was wonderful... the trip there and back were also memorable in a horrible way.... flights cancelled, delayed everything you can think of, but somehow I made it there in just enough time and got home after being away from Tristen for the first time by myself! So now its back to work for 2 weeks and then off to Cabo....

Grabbing a snack after playing in the sprinkler and pool....

Ok so this is funny.... Tristen had a huge breakfast.... we were doing stuff around the house and I was back in his room and Hayden had walked back into the kitchen and Tristen had pulled the chair out, climbed up, pulled both the bowl of grapes and coffee from the middle of the table over and was eating the grapes... good thing he didnt get the coffee.....he thought nothing of it when we walked in and were like... HUH?

My great pal Renee and I are share the love of volleyball... we participated in the Cornhusker State Games again this year in Womens Grass 2's... well we brought home the GOLD! We had a blast.... it got quite hot outside and pretty much were gased out at the end.... but in order to keep going the rest of the day we had to go and get pedicures... it was only right... we play barefoot and they were a mess after 6 hrs!!!

Ok so I have been catching some flack for not updating so here are a ton of pics! Ree Ree and Grandpa came up for a week while Hayden was off in Germany so we got out and had some fun....

Well the weekend was full!!! Four days off were awesome! We started out Friday night by going out to our friends house for a BBQ and yard games.... I was victorious in taking Hayden down in polish horseshoes..... just wanted to point that out... TWICE!!! We went to the parks, swam at home and in the pool at my work, went for a wagon ride, rode our bikes down to the farmers market and so much more... here are some of the pics I got....

This might look a little rougher than it was... he loved it but boy it gets fast when its wet so we then switched it to the smaller slide!!!

When we got back from Texas, Tristens first day back to daycare was a big day... he moved into the toddler room which is kiddos 18 months - 3 years.... we ditched the diaper bag and he now uses this little backpack that Grandpa Marty gave him. I tried to make it a little personalized by putting his name on it!

Ok, so we all know that Tristen is OBSESSED with phones.... well he now also loves to act like he is taking his own picture on the phone which isnt too far off, he sees us point out phone camera at him.... its just so fun when he turns it around and says CHHHEEEEZZZ!!!!

Look at me sporting my way cool converse hi-tops! Thanks Aunt Elena!!! They are really big now but the best part is we know they will fit soon!

Texas Trip!

Tristen and I headed down to TX for a little visit for family and friends but the main visit was to meet little Olivia Mancuso! We had a blast, Tristen is a fish and loved swimming!

Getting ready isnt easy.... Tristen kept taking things out of the suitcase!
Traveling with an 18 month old that doesnt want to sit still isnt easy either, he did great but I had to keep him busy with lots of things.... this is a sheer moment of sitting while looking at a video.....

First thing he did when waking up the next morning.... Found Grandpas way cool smoker and grill he built and climbed into the storage area of it and called it his own for the time there!

There she is!!! Such a sweet little face, looks just like her Momma!

So little.... hard to believe how fast they grow

We did the park every day.... it was fun to say I had my son at the park I grew up at... played all my tee ball and sball games there and where we played on the jungle gyms and swings... they have built a whole new area but some of the old stuff is still there!!!

After all that fun we had to get up early and catch the first flight home.... Tristen was so as easy going on the flight home but we made it.... here he is checking out his plane that was going to take him home!

This was right as we landed.... he finally sat still for two whole minutes... he was so tired.... had a breakdown on the plane but food usually does the trick.... then he was out within 5 minutes of the car ride home....

Tristen had his checkup last week and is growing like a weed.... well not really up as much as filling out... ha ha! Everything is good and he is a go getter... this boy does not sit still and so I try to plan fun activities for us to get out and about.... last week before Haydens last trip we took him swimming and then my friend Jess came over and we had a nice evening of chatting while Tristen and Roselynn played together..... its so much fun to have play dates when they are really more fun for the adults!!!

Grandma RE RE came to visit last weekend, she helped me with Tristen since I had the half-marathon and Hayden was out of town.. we had a nice time and Tristen had a ball with just us girls!!!

Ok so here is the video I mentioned a couple weeks back... Tristen was a part of Senior Day honoring Wiveca (who just loves our lil guy) so we had him take flowers out to here... HE DID GREAT!!! The best part was that the tulips had pretty much died and gone limp, ha ha and here he was just taking them out anyway! It was too flippin cute.

Tristen and I got together with my girlfriend Renee and Tristens girlfriends Madison and Anna..... Its amazing to see how much they have changed just in a year and a half almost.

This was the only way I could cook dinner the other night, Tristen was pounding on the patio door and screaming to go outside so I let him... since the stove is right there I was able to watch him play around and the dogs kept a watch out for him as well!

Bout ready for bed but thought he needed to gangster up a bit before stories....

Well Spring is here and we have been outside as much as possible..... Hayden had his last two home matches this past weekend and they were able to play outdoors.... the last time that this happened was our first year here in NE!!! Tristen LOVES being outside and I am so excited for this summer!!!

TADA!!! This was so exciting for me, I have been looking at garage sales and craigslist for a climber/slide for Tristen and everytime I would call on one it was sold within minutes.... These puppies arent cheap, this one new is 400.00 and so I got really lucky and found one in Omaha from a nice gal and I got this for 80.00!!! Its in great shape, cant do much about the fading bc thats just part of it..... and it really doesnt matter... still does the job!!! Tristen was super excited to do this over and over again!

Ok, I have to show the picture while telling the story bc it made me just crack up!!! So the other night we were getting Tristen ready for his bath... got him undressed and let him run around for a few minutes naked... well he ran to the dog door bc he loves to look through it and watch the dogs... so I was snapping this picture and he was standing there and all of a sudden I head this pretty good sounding PPPSSSS and I saw he had peed on the door......I didn't say anything until right after Tristen shouted UH OH and looks down!!!! Finally we have been getting outdoors and Tristen loves it! We need to go and get some outdoor toys for him b.c I have a feeling he is going to be spending a lot of time outside.... he loves to just stand at the patio door and watch the dogs and then says go go go.....

The window guy had to come back and install the foot bolt on the patio door and Tristen made sure things were done properly, he stood right over his shoulder the whole time.. wonder if Jeff(window guy) felt uncomfortable... OH WELL.... :)

Hayden always heads out to CA for spring break and I really should go as well but for some reason I stay here with cold winter weather and snow! My parents came up again for the week and my Dad put in new counter tops, sink, faucet, over the range microwave and under cabinet lighting!!! Its so nice! So with both my parents working around the projects they also got their Tristen fix... he is really becoming more and more independent and because of that he has started throwing some fits.... yippee!

Springtime is coming!!! My tulips are popping up! Tristen has 10 teeth now and has some more coming, he has been healthy and we hope to get through this last month or two of cold weather without any colds! He loves going to daycare and he started saying his teachers name a few weeks ago and when Hayden gets him ready in the morning he says ASH-EEH..... He is getting closer to having to move to the toddler room... I dont know who its going to be harder on, ME or Tristen!!!

This is the best... The dogs are incredible with Tristen... Tristen and Aspen have a closer relationship, he thinks its so funny to go and lift up her lips to show her teeth.... he giggles and then Aspen just sits there, such a good girl..... we always make sure we are around and supervise but these dogs have proven to be great with kids and babes!

We are so ready for Spring and some warm weather.... at least to get rid of this snow! Tristen is growing and doing something new and fun daily... He is a spitball, hyper and goofy! He now has eight teeth with a few more poking through soon. He is talking a lot, granted most of it is "his language" but its still fun to have conversations!

There are a lot of times Tristen will go into his room and its all quiet and he is just in there reading and looking at his books all alone... its so cool!

Well Tristen and I went to tennis practice the other day, I have to tell you about this first picture. This is Hayden's boss Scott, this is the only man and or person that Tristen has ever shown stranger anxiety or being afraid of.... Tristen would literally start crying right when he would walk into a room with the exception of Halloween and that was because Scott was a clown and he had no clue... actually Tristen was quite intrigued by him. So long story short Tristen finally came around and each time its so funny to see him interact with Scott, so last week when we were at practice Tristen actually lunged to him and wanted Scott to hold him... so now they are best buds....

Now this is the Cadillac of strollers.... you just have to ride on a ball cart!

The other night Tristen fell asleep with his hand holding onto Obie his elephant.... he stayed like that for over an hour and then all of a sudden I heard Obie go off when he let go.....

Popsicles make my gums feel better... this was his first one and boy did he down it!

Ok, Tristens hair has gotten long and out of control... My mom has actually cut his hair twice at home but we cant wait another month, so even though this was not his true first haircut it was his first time in a salon and not at home! It wasnt great but it was quick... he loved all the toys and slides that we had to bribe him over with animal crackers..... he cried a bit but once that cape was off and he was down playing... life was good!

AFTER! Its SHORT! But it looks good... I even messed around with some gel when we got home

It wasnt really that bad... he would cry, stop, cry while eating a cookie.....

Best thing was get got a balloon out of it and loved it... so I tied it to his jeans and he thought it was great....

He even HAD to take it to get ready for bed... he had mastered letting it go and asking please for us to reach it from the ceiling! So now it resides in our bedroom!!!

Well for our Valentines day weekend we had lots going on..... Our friend Kim Gidley (Air Force Coach) was in town playing Nebraska so we went to check out some tennis and then Daddy got sick with Tonsillitis so Tristen and Mommy had extra special quality time together....

This made me laugh.... He looked so small across a couple courts.... if you look close enough you will see he was showing me the ball from way across!!!!

Tristen has been starting to do more and more things that I just sit back for a second and go wow.... He is picking up on so many things... The other night Hayden and I were in the living room and Tristen walks over to the Kleenex box takes one out walks right over to me and puts it up to my nose!!! I was like NO WAY! I thanked him, pretended to blow my nose and then he walked right over to Hayden and did the same thing... we both just sat there and soaked it in for a minute.....

15 Months

Tristen had his 15 month check up last week.... He had croup a few weeks ago which turned into a nasty cold and then his ear had some drainage... so we went to the doc and they treated him for an ear infection and said that we can just follow up at his 15 mo appt..... so when we got there everything was good until he looked into his left ear (the one that has given us trouble since Nov.) and Dr. Russell said Uh Oh... his tube is out! My heart dropped..... all I could think of was having to put him through surgery and being knocked out again..... so we are just going to watch it for now, if he gets another infection we will be meeting with the ENT doc. But for good news he is a strong growing boy..... everything went great and he is right where he should be.

A little update on the man... When we were in Jackson I noticed Tristen had cut another tooth... so we are now at 7. He has a few more bumps so I think more are close behind! The newest excitement is that he no longer takes his pacifier... He was only getting it at naps and nighttime but daycare was not giving it to him lately and he was doing fine so we decided to just take it away on Monday and see how it went.... well it was not a problem at all for him! He didnt cry a bit! We are so lucky to have such a good little boy! His verbal is taking off... He says HI... over and over..... Peese (please)......Oggies (doggies)....... Appy (Aspen)....... Uh Oh...... He can say Mama and Dada but doesnt.

He also had started FLIRTING! Oh my gosh.... he will see girls and smile and then turn away and tuck his chin to the side and get all excited! One of the daycare gals said that they think he is starting to realize how cute he is... we are going to make sure that it doesnt go to his head... ha ha!

Well we took our first FAMILY ROAD TRIP to Jackson Hole, WY. It was quite the trek but the weather was really good both ways and Tristen held up well..... Hayden and I traded off skiing and watching Tristen so we both got to go out and have some fun.....

We are off! We did have to resort to the Baby Einstein DVD's at times b/c he was just ready to get out of that car seat! Nice milk drool bud....

He did really well and even fell asleep eating his snack here....

Hotel stay went well....

We made it!!!! And I found a remote!

We were all ready to go swimming but then come to find out the pool was not working that day!!!

This is a view from the top of the Avalanche that happened while we were there just before the lifts opened. The perspective gets really lost in photos... it was quite big and deep.

The Avalanche that happened in-bounds which ended up killing one of the Jackson Hole Ski Patrol men.... We have skied that run numerous times....

This was a great view skiing down and I was even more excited b/c I was skiing back to the condo to get into the HOT TUB!

Ok so its out of focus but its the only pic I have of us ADULTS! We went to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and did some country dancing!

Time to get all packed up... I tried to tell Tristen that it didnt mean that we had to get in the suitcases as well!

Christmas 2009 and Blizzard #2!

Well this years Christmas was a big one.... Tristen was much more active than last year and the weather as well... we had a blizzard a couple weeks ago and we got another one that dumped about a foot of snow here over Christmas, SOOOO we had lots of family time and cabin fever started to set in! Gran-mama and Grandpa came from Texas to celebrate and boy did they get welcomed with all the snow!

So when I was young the family tradition every Christmas Eve was for my Dad to sit down with all of us and read The Night Before Christmas just before going to bed.... well I failed to get the book in print this year so thanks to Google and the Internet my Dad was able to take care of his role of reading Tristen the story via the macbook pro!

Well Mr. Tristen really has gotten the walking thing down... He walks with his hand up in the air like he is being held up, a very fine way to stay balanced I must say!

Tonight he literally just starting walking around in circles, I know this video is completely out of focus, but you get the idea!

Well its cold and nasty out... so we arent doing too much outdoors, but we manage to find plenty to do inside! Tristen is really starting to walk more and more which is SO CUTE! He talks quite a bit... some I understand, most I dont! He loves to say OGGIES.... for Doggies! He loves them. We went to visit Santa and he mainly just kept looking at him and his big beard, so I dont have any really good pics... Oh well!

He loves to take the wipes box and rip every wipe out of there, so I have now given him and empty one with only 4 wipes to just keep taking in and out

First big snowstorm of the year.... It has been snowing all day and as I type its still snowing and we are in a blizzard warning... We did take some time early on this morning before it got real nasty to take Tristen out to play... well sort of... not much playing, he swiped some snow off my car but he has a hard time moving in his snow jacket (its a bit big) so he is kind of a stay puff man!

He didnt really want to sit in the snow so I took this out for him to sit on....

So about a month ago Tristen took his first 5 steps at Daycare and then did take a couple here and there at home the next few days and then after that weekend he decided to take a break and has had no desire to let us help him or anything. He had still been cruising along the walls and tables but anytime we tried to walk with him he would just buckle his knees and collapse... So today after a 3 hr nap (unheard of) he took like 8 or 9 steps.... maybe he is back!!??

PLEASE PARDON MY LANGUAGE!!!! It was a really long day and I really didn't expect that at the end of the day... but it sure did make for a great ending!

This was the other day, I was letting Tristen play around in the cabinets that are not forbidden, Hayden and I were getting ready to go to the football game and I was popping my head in and out of the kitchen and I thought it got a bit quiet!!!

Alright so it was weeks ago now but just after Tristen's birthday party we went to New Jersey for my cousin Laurens wedding, it was beautiful and a nice visit to all my family I dont get to see often....it was nice to visit but I dont ever want to live there... its crazy!!!

Life is getting busy these next couple weeks.... we are on countdown to Tristens first birthday, a trip to New Jersey then a trip to Texas for Lindsey's wedding! Here are a few pics of the lil man as of late..... he has been working on 4 teeth and the first 2 just cut and the other two are right behind... going from two to six teeth! He is walking with a finger hold but just cant quite get the balance down.

Yesterday we were at Old Navy and something momentus happened, Tristen was just standing next to something and he let go and was just standing there!!!! Today he has done more and more of that and for longer periods of time up to about 1o seconds!!! Hayden just got back into town and he was hoping he wouldnt miss anything and he didnt!!!

He is already a pretty rough lil guy, he doesnt mind falling much and just earlier he was climbing the stairs and would go up one and then turn around and try to lunge off to the bottom.... he loves climbing over the dogs and faceplanting.....I am gonna need the cold packs ready for the bumps and bruises!

Well Tristen is 11 months old and its really scary that he is going to be a year at the end of this month. He is getting closer to showing signs of walking.... maybe by his birthday!?

While Hayden was out of town last weekend I took Tristen to his first game which happened to also be the 300th consecutive sellout game so it was very memorable. He did so well.... not scared at all, more like in awe of everything and all that red!

This was his awe face... kept looking at the big screen! WHOA!

This I am not sure what was happening here but I think he was kissing on his shadow.... he thought it was funny at least.

Ready for ole man winter... got him some snow pants for the snow!

Shoes are for your feet and not to eat! I thought the best part was he was just sitting there chillin with his legs crossed!

I don't even know where to begin... Its been a month of craziness so I am just going to post the pictures that I DO HAVE and give the updates through that. These are all out of order....

The latest event was Tristen's Baptism, it was a nice service and my parents came up to be here with Tristen. It started out a little crazy, he developed the croup on Friday evening and luckily got over it fast but had a cold through the weekend.

You can tell here that he has a cold, watery eyes and runny nose, but the first cold since his tubes and they proved to be a good thing!

Just playing, well educating himself....

Tristen had Madison over to play, she and Tristen go way back..... about 8 months :)

Tristen is quite the mover and will let nothing stand in his way of getting somewhere......

Daddy played in a tennis tourney for Labor Day (which he won!) and we went to watch!

Football season is here! We went over to a friends house for the first game this is Tristens friend Creighton, we think they look like brother and sister.... everyone thinks that Creightons mom and I are sisters so I guess it could make sense. On a side note.... there were probably 5 or 6 families there and at least 1 or 2 kids per family... EVERYONE even the 6 week old baby was wearing RED except for ..... Can you guess?? HAYDEN! You can see his BLUE shirt there... Everyone was a little disappointed in him being a Husker Coach and all..... :)

The blog is on hold until I receive a new hard drive.... My lovely 90 lb pup knocked my laptop off the kitchen table and shot my hard drive... which in turn made me lose all my pictures!!! I have stuff up until March but basically I have lost 5 months of his life. There is still hope to get the data but the price might be a bit hefty! So I will back to it soon once I get pics onto a computer and start the process again!

Well its done.... Tristen had too many ear infections from April to July when usually in the summer it should be lower so they were worried about the winter months coming and what he might run into plus I did not want him in any more antibiotics! So we checked in at like 545 am and got it done.... Tristen was a trooper, he did so well the nurses let him go very soon after getting back from the recovery room yet they said "Stay as long as you want" b/c they liked him and he was such a good patient....

This is pre-surgery ---- pretty happy and playful for early in the morning!

All done and you can tell he was a little sleepy but didnt cry once! He did so well.
